The Break command divides or breaks a span of copper so new equipment can be inserted. After selecting the command, identify and accept a break location on the span. When a break is created, the selected span becomes two spans with separate lengths. The lengths can be edited by selecting the Span Lengths command on the Modify/Delete section of the Copper Tab (if required).

1. From the Modify/Delete section of the Copper Tab select the Break command:

   

2. Identify the span that needs to be broken. After selecting the span, it highlights in two different colors (green and red), to indicate where the break will occur. Either Accept or Reject the device:

   

3. By accepting span break, a new vertex is inserted on the span for device placement.
